Promotions at Barratts
We are delighted to announce that two of our senior lawyers have become Partners from 1st September 2021:
Lesley Edwards
Lesley joined our Personal Injury team in May 2019 and has proved to be an exceptional lawyer. With decades of experience helping injured clients, Lesley has already been involved in the settlement of cases for clients with severe spinal injury, brain damage and orthopaedic injuries. Lesley is also helping clients who have been diagnosed with asbestosis and other industrial diseases.
We are so pleased to have found such a dedicated lawyer to continue the high standards set by Barratts. Lesley moved to Barratts so that she could provide a more personal service for clients, with time to help them, and in a niche environment. Working with other experienced injury litigation lawyers in a team is also great for our clients as we meet regularly to discuss cases and changes in the law.
Jay Tomlinson
Jay began working at Barratts in 2018, after previously advising families on special education needs. It became clear early on that Jay was extremely organised and committed to our clients. Jay’s work with the Court of Protection (“COP”) Department increased so she decided to concentrate full time on work as a Deputy for our clients who lack capacity to manage their affairs. Jay became Head of the Department in 2020 and her promotion to partner in September 2021 is well deserved.
Jay will always go the extra mile to ensure she is able to meet the needs of the person lacking capacity and to involve them in decisions about their life as much as possible. Jay’s sensible, pragmatic advice has proved to be invaluable.
