Always Supporting Our Clients

At Barratts we pride ourselves on putting our clients first. This was particularly important for one young woman who came to us after a car accident. It really is our caring approach that sets us apart, as this testimonial shows. A client recently wrote a letter of appreciation to Ed Myers and his team but her comments apply equally to all our legal staff. People often say that they have never come across another firm with the same dedication to personal service. We believe this is because we’re always centred on the client. We know that our personal service puts us at the top of the legal ranks nationally.

Our client had just arrived from China when she was involved in a car accident and the support she received from Ed was invaluable to her. She said she felt he trusted and believed in her when others questioned her medical condition and, in her own words, “he stand (sic) by my side” and “he trusted me when others question me”. She explained that Ed “helped me to build confidence to have a new life”.

Recovery and life after the car accident

The client was on her way to start a Masters Degree at University when she was injured in a car accident. This difficult situation was even harder because she did not speak English. Her family travelled from China to help her recovery but they did not speak English either. Ed was able to put them at ease. Instead of feeling frightened and alone in a foreign country, our client and her family felt reassured. Ed used a translator and he reassured the family that our client was in safe hands. This meant they were able to return to China knowing that Ed had already arranged for accommodation, care and therapy for their daughter. She was not alone.

Our practical, sympathetic approach made all the difference. We worked closely with our client and her family so they could cope with living in a foreign country. This was hard for them all after such a traumatic accident. Ed listened carefully to his client. Because he believed in her so he was determined to get the right evidence. In the end he recovered money for her for both the psychological injury and financial losses in China and the UK.

Ed was delighted that because of the treatment he had arranged, the client was able to pass her Masters degree. We look at the whole picture – money is only one part of what we do. As the client herself said, Ed “encouraged me” and without his help “I won’t have chance to have my new life”. He “really cares about the client and client’s feelings”.

It was a team effort and, most importantly, our client remained at the centre of our work. The way we focused on her during the years of her recovery and settlement of the claim made a difference. We think our personal dedicated service works and our clients think so too!
